China and U.S in another Cold-War amid-Coronavirus

China and therefore the us are veering toward a “new conflict ,” Beijing’s secretary of state warned only one day after Hong Kong protests reignited.

China’s secretary of state Wang Yi on Sunday said “political forces” within the U.S. are influencing the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong. The communist Chinese government on Friday announced new national security laws aimed to suppress such protests by banning behaviors loosely classified as treason and subversion. Wang chastised U.S. elites at a news conference Beijing lawmakers addressed their top 2020 concerns: national security issues involving the Hong Kong protests and economic process within the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Some political forces in the U.S. are hijacking the China-U.S. relations and pressuring the two countries into a ‘new Cold War’,” the Chinese secretary of state said. “This devilish plan to to destroy the history will mar the benefits peaceful cooperation between these two countries.”

The crisis between these two countries with the largest economies have skyrocketed because the Trump administration has been attacking China’s response to the coronavirus epidemic’s origins, which has resulted to the two countries having a rift on business sanctions emphasizing on international trade power. On Sunday, White House National Security Advisor, Robert O’Brien made a remark that Hong Kong might be deprived of trade status with the U.S. and other global financial hubs if the proposals made by Beijing lawmakers Friday is acted upon.

“There’s no how Hong Kong will remain an Asian center if the Chinese Communist Party enforces its national security law,” O’Brien reported.

Wang repeatedly criticized seemingly subversive U.S. political forces of attempting to neglect mainland China’s rules. Earlier this month, the FBI said it had been investigating attempts by Chinese hackers to steal U.S. research into a coronavirus vaccine.

“China has no agenda to replace U.S ,” Wang said in the presence of some journalists. “The time is here for the U.S to provide an avenue to adjust China and prevent 1.4 billion people in their quest toward modernization … [American politicians] are attempting to cage U.S.-China relations.”

China’s former Ambassador to Japan, Wang and director of the Taiwan Affairs Office, said: “This devilish agenda to deprive the desire of history will restrict the benefits of decades-long China-U.S. relationship, affect America’s own development prospects, and jeopardise world stability and prosperity.”

The crisis between the two countries (world’s most powerful economies) has raised worldwide trade speculation that the U.S. is trying to build a closer relationship with India. China’s state-run Global Times publication ran an article Monday saying Western media is amplifying criticism of Beijing’s Hong Kong restrictions. The piece said such laws will work under China’s controversial “one country, two systems” principle which has unofficially been applied within the past toward Macau, Taiwan and Tibet.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang while speaking at the opening day of the People’s Congress meeting, emphasized on the proposed anti-democracy protest legislation, “We will set up sound legal systems and enforcement mechanisms for preserving national security.”
