Reason for Armenia and Azerbaijan War-Revealed

Armenia declared law and mobilized its male population on Sunday after clashes with Azerbaijan over the breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh region during which sources on each side reported fatalities.

Armenia said Azerbaijan had administered an air and artillery attack on Nagorno-Karabakh, but Azerbaijan said it had skilled Armenian shelling.

Armenian right activists said two civilians, a lady and a toddler, had been killed by Azeri shelling. Baku said an unspecified number of Azeri civilians had been killed and 6 wounded, and Nagorno-Karabakh said 10 of its military staff had been killed. The reports could not be independently confirmed.

Russia’s foreign ministry, a peace maker in decades of clashes between majority Christian Armenia and mainly Muslim Azerbaijan, admonished each side to shield their sword immediately and engage in peaceful talks.

The duo countries have overtime been at logger head over Nagorno-Karabakh, which broke faraway from Azerbaijan during a conflict that broke out because the Soviet Union collapsed.

Though in 1994, a ceasefire was agreed, Azerbaijan and Armenia seldomly accuse each  other of attacks around Nagorno-Karabakh and along the separate Azeri-Armenian frontier.

The fracas has left Western and regional countries partially devastated because it could cause instability within the South Caucasus, which is a corridor for pipelines transporting oil and gas to world markets.

Armenia’s defence ministry said its troops had damaged three tanks and pulled down two helicopters and three unmanned aerial vehicles in response to an attack on civilian targets including Nagorno-Karabakh’s capital, Stepanakert.

“Our response are going to be proportionate, and therefore the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan bears full responsibility for things ,” the ministry said during a statement echoed by the foreign ministry.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on Twitter: “We stay strong next to our army to guard our motherland from Azeri invasion.”

Azerbaijan refuted the statement from the Armenian defence ministry, saying it had “full advantage over the enemy on the front”, and accused Armenian forces of launching “deliberate and targeted” attacks along the front line.
